You Got the Real Thing?

What is authentic Christianity? Is there more to being a Christian than knowing a set of facts? Is it just an emotional feeling? Yesterday we kicked off a new series on Living on the Edge Radio called, "Uncovering Counterfeit Christianity."

If you find yourself trying hard to do the "right" things, going to church… even reading your Bible on a semi-regular basis, but don't feel like you're getting any closer to God or getting much traction in your spiritual growth, then it just might be the time to ask yourself, "Do I have the real thing?"

Listen online or podcast these radio programs this week if you'd like to explore the Biblical foundations of true Christianity and valuable insights from God's Word to help you derermine if your faith is genuine.

Hi, Chip
For the past 4 months I have been able to listen to all of your podcast. I am a cancer doctor in Kansas. They are a great addition to my quiet times. To get to the point, I have noticed through the Barna studies, the Reveal studies ,and even your observation that only 15-20% of church goers participate. (Is this why you were so discouraged?)
My solution is that everyone should count the cost with a mature Christian before deciding to accept Jesus. (Luke 14:25-35, Luke 9:57-62, Luke 13:22-30)In addition to the understanding that Jesus died for us and we cannot earn our salvation, he wants us to, repent, become a disciple, be an active part of the Body, display fruits of the Spirit, and get baptized.
Second, everyone should be in a relationship that is designed to help them grow. (Small group, discipleship group, etc).
These two things are Biblical.
